Examples of how Ian has helped clients include:

• Our client underwent a knee replacement procedure. Unfortunately, the wrong insert was put in during the surgery, and as a consequence his knee had to be opened up again for the inserts to be substituted. The client claimed for an unnecessary second operation
• Our client was born with a hole between the chambers of his heart and he was due to have this corrected when he was a teenager. When the client eventually had his surgery to correct the condition the surgeon found another congenital abnormality which he couldn't deal with at the same time as closing up the hole in his heart. Because of the serious risks presented by further major heart surgery, the client lost his chance of having his second congenital abnormality corrected. Our case was that this condition should have been picked up during pre-surgery investigations, if this had been done the client would have been referred to a specialist hospital where both conditions could have been repaired at the same time.

Both claims were successful and were settled out of Court. Most claims do eventually settle although a small percentage do have to go to trial.
