Andrew Stevenson, Wills Solicitor at Mansfield Law firm Hopkins, is pleased that the BBC are running a series highlighting and helping resolve the problems that arise when people die not having made a Will, or having had a poorly drafted Will.

The BBC2 programme "Can't take it with you" explores some of the difficult issues facing families, including second marriages and the treatment of children from the first relationship, favouritism between children and whether sons should inherit more than daughters.

Andrew hopes that the show will serve to remind people of the importance of making a Will. He says "If you are one of the 70% of people who die without making a Will, you may well be leaving a mess for who you leave behind, whatever you have to leave, you owe it to yourself to ensure that it passes to the right person or charity."

He adds "The making and updating of a Will by a properly qualified person is the only way to ensure that your loved ones are dealt with as you would like, and not to leave distress and bitterness behind."

If you would like to speak to Andrew about the benefits of making a Will, or to make a Will please contact him on 01623 468 468.
