Government supports Mediation and Collaborative Law for family cases

Lord McNally, a Minister of State and Deputy Leader of the House of Lords, has recently said in a letter to local MP Vernon Coaker, that the Government encourages Mediation and Collaborative Law as the best approach for divorcing couples. In his letter he goes on to say that the Government is putting money behind Mediation, and making it essential for family law clients (with a few exceptions) to try it before starting a case in Court about money or children. The Government also supports Collaborative Law as an alternative to Court.

Here at Hopkins Solicitors, the head of our family team David Winnett, is both a Collaborative Lawyer and Family Mediator. He advocates both methods because of their ability to save costs, time and stress for his clients.
