Hope for people affected by medical negligence
Errors made by medical professionals can change lives forever, as highlighted by recent news of the mistakes made in breast cancer testing at King’s Mill Hospital.
It was recently revealed that due to faults in testing procedures in the Pathology Department at King’s Mill Hospital, around 60 local women were given the wrong breast cancer treatment.
Seventy nine women will receive an apology and have their breast cancer treatment reviewed.
As Ian Corbett, Medical Negligence expert at Mansfield law firm, Hopkins Solicitors, points out:
“Sadly, there are regular stories in the press about people whose physical or mental well being has been affected due to mistakes made by medical professionals.
This may be because they received ineffective or inappropriate treatment from GPs, hospitals and dentists due to misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, errors during surgery or after care, or the administration of the wrong type or wrong strength of drug.”
Fortunately, there is help available for people affected by medical negligence. Ian Corbett has more than 25 years of experience of dealing with all kinds of personal injury claims and has developed a specialism in medical negligence which isn’t matched by anyone else in the local area. He has helped hundreds of people in Nottinghamshire to claim the compensation they deserve.
Ian Corbett says: “Compensation can be claimed for not only the negligent treatment itself, but also for loss of earnings and any psychological distress caused.”
