In negligence claims this is usually 3 years from the date of the accident or date of diagnosis, exceptions to this are criminal injuries, accidents on board ships or flights which have a shorter time limit of 2 years. Claims for children have a longer time limit of 3 years from the child’s 18th Birthday regardless of when the accident or illness occurred.
