A paraglegal with a masters in law and a passion for helping tenants and landlords
Lewis joined Hopkins in November 2020 as a paralegal in our Housing Department based in our Waverley Mansfield town centre office. He assists our housing and litigation solicitors with their cases, including conducting initial client meetings, keeping clients informed on the progress of their case and attending court hearing with clients.
He studied at Nottingham Trent University and graduated with a Masters of Law in 2019. When asked why he chose a career in housing law he said, “I have always wanted to study law and upon graduating I obtained employment as a Landlord and Tenant Paralegal in my hometown of Alton. This gave me a valuable insight into Housing law and helped me realise it is a career path I would be interested in pursuing.”
He has experience in Housing Law for both residential and commercial landlords and tenants which encompasses: wrongful evictions, disrepair claims, possession claims and eviction notices, homelessness and allocation including challenging local authority decisions, succession of tenancies, injunctions.

He took complete ownership of my case from beginning to the end, giving me expert advice all along the way and none of my queries were ever a big ask for him. He understood and articulated all the issues exceptionally well, and he dealt with my claim with such ease, bringing it to a swift and amicable conclusion, gaining respect from all parties concerned along the way.
